Workforce Solutions South Plains can provide financial assistance to families that need help paying for child care so they can work, attend a training program or go to school. The Eligibility Determination Checklist can help ensure that you have all needed documentation for CCS to determine if you are eligible for services.
Workforce Solutions South Plains Child Care Services recently received notification from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) that, effective August 1, 2016, a freeze has been placed on all new enrollments for At-Risk child care customers. TWC has historically allowed Boards to choose their own eligibility period for all Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF)-funded child care. However, recent changes to federal child care regulations now mandate a 12-month eligibility period for all CCDF-funded child care by October 1, 2016. This change has made it extremely difficult to forecast the impact on expenditures statewide. The freeze will be lifted once TWC has been able to reasonably forecast future expenditures.
Providers can help to maintain their current enrollments by reminding parents to update their information as soon as changes occur and to respond in a timely manner to documentation requests from Child Care Staff.
The only new referrals you will receive from us in the meantime will be those identified in the TWC priority group and former CPS children.
Parents currently in care must remember to call CCS to report any household and/or income changes within 10 days of the occurrence and by responding in a timely manner for requested documentation from CCS staff to avoid losing care.
Customers will continue to be waitlisted until further notice. Updates will be posted on this webpage, please check back periodically.
We thank you for your patience, support, and continued commitment to serving the children in our area.
