Who chooses the child care provider my child will use?

  • You do. Eligible parents/caretakers must choose their child’s care provider.
  • We can provide a list of our CCS providers.
  • The list identifies our Texas Rising Star Providers, businesses that have
  • volunteered to meet standards higher than the state requires in the areas of health & safety; fewer children with each caregiver; and lesson plans that include activities to specifically develop large muscle, small muscle, learning/thinking and social skills.
  • Some providers, called TEEM providers, have programs designed to improve a child’s school readiness, early learning and reading skills.
  • Other choices may be specific family members or registered or licensed facilities that are not CCS providers.
  • Contact Day Care Licensing at 806-698-6969 x241 or http://www.dfps.state.tx.us.
