WORKFORCE DOLLARS YIELD HIGH RETURN

ON INVESTMENT REGIONALLY, STATEWIDE

(South Plains)  A recent report, issued by the University of Texas at Austin Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources, reflects the total return on investment (ROI) for workforce dollars spent in Texas and in each of the twenty-eight workforce development regions across the state. The Texas Association of Workforce Boards (TAWB), a non-profit organization developed to promote an employer-driven workforce development system in Texas, is comprised of twenty-seven Texas workforce development boards, including Workforce Solutions South Plains. The TAWB entered into a contract with the Ray Marshall Center for the purpose of performing a statewide study to report the total return on investment for every workforce dollar spent. Dr. Christopher T. King of the Ray Marshall Center reported the initial findings to the TAWB Board of Directors during its June meeting held in Austin. (cont.)
